Mark Feigenbaum

Mark has experience in various areas in both accounting and law. He is well known for his expertise in cross-border taxation, specifically the unique taxation of the sports and entertainment industry. He writes for trade and popular press and has been cited extensively for background or as a technical resource in the media.
He has litigated numerous cases in the United States and Canada at the highest levels, some of which have received national attention and involve issues that have never been adjudicated. In addition, he counsels many law and accounting firms on complex matters and is an expert witness for tax and entertainment litigation.
He has argued before the Ontario courts, the Canadian tax court, the Federal Court of Canada, and the Federal Court of Appeals. In the United States he has argued before the US tax court, several U.S. district courts, and appeals courts and has filed a writ of certiorari to the United States Supreme Court.
Other areas of his practice include family law, specifically cases that involve financial issues, cross-border estate planning, wills, and general corporate accounting and law, including cross-border mergers and acquisitions, from both the accounting and legal side.
Mark has taught full-time and continues to teach part-time at the undergraduate and graduate levels in accounting, tax, and law.
He is admitted to practice before the bars of Ontario and the District of Columbia, the U.S. tax court, four U.S. district courts, six U.S. courts of appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
He is a Certified Public Accountant in Illinois and the District of Columbia and a Chartered Global Management Accountant in the United States. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant in Ontario and has been awarded the designation of fellow of the institute.
He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting, a law degree, a master of laws in entertainment and media law, and a doctor of juridical science (Ph.D. in law) in international taxation and financial services from California. His doctoral dissertation is titled “An Analysis of Canada/US Cross-Border Taxation as it Applies to the Sports and Entertainment Industry.”
He also has a master of science in economics from Indiana and a master of arts in adult education from Michigan. He has completed the program for leadership development (EMBA alternative) in Massachusetts.
